🕉️ Sivavakkiyar – Life History
Period: Believed to have lived around the 10th century CE (some scholars place him between the 9th–12th century).
Tradition: He was one of the 18 Siddhars, mystics of Tamil Nadu who were known for their deep knowledge of medicine, philosophy, yoga, and spirituality.
Philosophy:
He strongly rejected rituals, caste discrimination, idol worship, and empty religious practices.
His philosophy is centered on Gnana (true knowledge) and internal realization of God rather than external rituals.
He emphasized that Shiva (the Supreme) is present within every being.
He often condemned superstition, hypocrisy in religion, and blind belief.

His verses are collected in Sivavakkiyam (சிவவாக்கியம்), a famous Siddhar text with over 500 verses.
